Eugeria's Take

The SMPL photo phone is a great option to foster communication with a loved one with memory loss. We chose it for its simple and clean design and the large buttons for the picture-dials and the number pad. The volume of this adapted phone is also adjustable for people who are hard of hearing.

I bought the phone for my husband, who is living with cognitive problems. At first glance, he was very pleased with the model, but quickly became disillusioned when he realized that he couldn't hear well and that the volume wasn't constant. I told him to turn the volume up and it was better, but it didn't stay up, and the volume dropped again. I'm going to visit him on Sunday and try to find out what the problem is.

Easy to adapt with photos. Easy to answer and hang up. However, our mom manages to deprogram. The photos end up with the number of another photo or no number.

Great idea, my mother has dementia, she doesn't know how to dial even with the numbers near her, so the little pictures were the best solution to call us when she likes. In addition to the big buttons, the device is solid and of good quality.
